To commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Kespu’kwitk Métis Council will hold a gathering at the Yarmouth Museum on September 30th from 1-3 pm, focusing on the importance of traditional foods and medicines, and the challenge of food insecurity in Indigenous communities. Andrée Noye of Circé and Medée, a Pubnico-based community wellness centre, will give a presentation. This gathering is funded by the Government of Canada, Department of Canadian Heritage, through the Commemorate Canada Celebration and Commemoration Program. Non-perishable food donations are welcomed.

KMC’s Annual General Meeting will take place on September 29, at 5 pm, in the Community Room of the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library. Refreshments will be provided and members of the public are invited to attend. A Zoom link for this meeting can be obtained by contacting our office at kmcmetis@gmail.com.
